Hi. Love the clip, but wish it was the same color as the wallet. Works great though.
The clip is great. When you buy the wallet, it should be included instead of the flat piece of metal that is rendered unnecessary since the clip does the same thing.
The cash clip backplate transforms your wallet so you can attach it to your belt, pants/shorts pocket, or any other strap you may want to hook it onto!
Holds a decent amount of cash (I normally carry 6 bills with ease) and is very sturdy. Adds only a small amount of bulk to the wallet, but overall package remains conveniently slim.
Hold money tight, it will not fall out. Becomes difficult to put in more than 5-6 bills since it is folded up. Not much of an issue since I don't carry much cash but if you get a few $1 bills it could be tough to get them in.
Also nice to put a few extra cards and the Find My Wallet card.

Would suggest bundling it with a black money sleeve which opens on the side to hold the bills. the top should be hard enough to slide in and out easily. this will improve the access to the bills and also make the bills discreet when you remove wallet from pocket. Of course the sleeve is optional and you don't have to use it. I made one myself from plastic case you get with passport pictures.
This is exactly what my Ekster wallet needed. It replaces the standard external card plate with a versatile attachment that lets you securely carry both extra cards and cash. You can also mount it on the opposite side of the wallet if you prefer additional card storage instead. Keep in mind that adding it will make the wallet a bit bulkier, but the added functionality is well worth it. Overall, it’s a fantastic upgrade with excellent build quality.
I have seen these type of money clips in the past and I wondered about it's ability to securely hold any "folding money". I have been educated. As soon as I received the Cash Clip, and attempted to place bills under it, it occurred to me that this clip was STRONG! I confidently place bills under the clip knowing that they are NOT going to fall out. Your Cash Clip Backplate is well worth the money (no pun intended). Thanks for a great product!!!
I just replaced my old Ekster with a new one, not because it was warn out or broken but just to change it up. I think it's an outstanding product, very durable and functional. I'm a common lawful American (not a district of Columbia US Citizen) so I carry a 1 ounce silver round on me at all times (otherwise you're classified as a pauper) so it'd be cool if there were a way to incorporate a spot on the money band for a silver coin but, otherwise this is an amazing product.
Top shelf wallet, from start to finish. For sure hard to beat. So there’s that, but even more important, top notch Customer Service/Care. I had to make a return bc I ordered the wrong wallet for me. The return was seamless. These are very good people to deal with.

The cash clip backplate is well designed to hold your bill currency. It also has other uses that may be more helpful. You can use it as a "clip" to hold your wallet on your belt or clip it inside a pocket of a bag so you can find it easily while it's well guarded. The clip offers RFID protection and is made of metal so it's extremely durable. Since the "clip" can hold additional cards in the back, I put the tool card and a cardboard card in the back of it. The cardboard card acts as protection so that I don't accidently scratch the wallet when I pull out the tool card. Personally, I find the "clip" to be the most useful accessory to the wallet!
Just attached the clip to the carbon fiber wallet …it’s a super strong clip, will definitely hold bills securely… my husband loves his new wallet… sleek, classy looking, lightweight, and being rfid makes it super secure.. the finder card was easy to pair with the iphone and comes with its own mini charger connector..definitely recommend
I originally picked up the Cash Clip Backplate when I bought my first Ekster cardholder back in 2023. At the time it seemed like a small accessory, but it ended up being one of the most useful add-ons.
What I like most is how modular the Ekster system is. When I later upgraded to the Cardholder Pro, I was able to move the same cash clip backplate over and it fit perfectly. No issues with the tension or durability even after years of use.
It’s great for holding a few bills without adding bulk, and it keeps the wallet slim while still giving you flexibility. The build quality has held up really well over time, which says a lot for such a simple piece.
Overall it’s a small upgrade that adds a lot of practicality, especially if you want to keep a couple bills on hand without carrying a full cash wallet.
