We got together with some of the worlds best freestyle skiers to hit the slopes of French ski-haven, Avoriaz and gave them the opportunity to test the limits of our smart travel wallets. Just like skiing, we wanted to show you how our products combine elegance, precision and human innovation. Meet our first team-member, Alex Ferreira.
American Freestyle Skier Alex Ferreira, was born and raised on the slopes of ski-haven Aspen, Colorado. Alex, also known as "Chow", clicked into his first ski bindings at the age of three, and hasn't separated from them since. After making his debut to the world stage via the Winter X Games, he went on to become the 2018 Winter Olympics Superpipe Silver Medallist. Everything went uphill from there, smashing the world's most challenging competitions one after the other. From becoming 2018 Worldcup Halfpipe Champion to winning the medal every pro freestyle skier dreams of, 2019 Winter X Games Superpipe Gold Medal.

Alex has a great balance between a very serious professional skier and just another guy having a lot of fun and making people laugh. His dedication during our journey through the alps truly blew our minds. Alex always makes sure he's fully geared up when heading onto the slopes. He doesn't settle for less than the best materials when it comes to skiing, which explains his impressive sponsors; Columbia Sportswear, Poc Sportswear, Aspen Snowmass, Rockstar Energy and Level Gloves. This also counts for his EDC. Alex carries a Parliament Wallet + Tracker Card with him on a daily basis.
Here's what he said when we asked him.. why did he choose for an Ekster wallet?
"I mainly switched from my traditional wallet to one of these because I love the button feature. It keeps things simple and easy and saves me time on a daily basis. My daily schedule is packed from dusk till dawn and I'm always on the run, which is where the tracker comes in handy." - Alex Ferreira
We asked him how his everyday carry gear usually held up in the mountains?
“Not many people know this about technology, but it can malfunction or even break at high altitudes or low temperatures. This is something that has always impacted my ability to use stuff on the mountain, but up until now, the Ekster Wallet has fared a lot better than my other tech at high altitudes. Your phone will stop working before your wallet does!” - Alex Ferreira
