At first thought, it may seem a bit strange to make an ultra slim wallet with leather, but it’s ideal when you think about it; leather conforms to the way it’s used, and so our wallets slim down according to your usage as well. It’s a timeless material to make a wallet out of, but it does require a little TLC to keep it fresh. So here’s a few tips to help you take care of it. 
The right leather care products
There are a lot of options on the market to help you take care of your new leather slim wallet, but all of them are definitely not created equal. We’ve done our research on many of them to test-drive how they work, and the product we’ve found to be the most efficient is Saphir Medaille D’Or. It’s basically like body butter, or moisturizing your skin, but for leather products instead. It’s an affordable option which lasts for months, so you can consider it an investment in the longevity of your leather.
The right application
We’ve run into this issue sometimes: once you have a leather care product, it seems as if the work is done. But there’s still a few things to keep in mind when you apply it to your wallet; you can’t use any old cloth for it. We’ve gotten the best results from applying Saphir Medaille D’or with a specialized brush or a new, dye-free cloth that you only use for this purpose. There’s really no wrong options as long as you keep in mind that the cloth should not be dyed, because that might affect the dyeing of the leather itself.
Using the leather right
The great thing about leather, and one of the reasons we love it so much, is that the best way to take care of it is to use it. Handling your wallet, carrying it in your pocket and using it each day will give it a beautiful patina.
